Updating a dataset dating sim 4 boys game
Can anyone tell me the best way to update a dataset while it is being edited/viewed in the Data Grid View control? Also, can you tell me the best book to buy that fully explains the Data Grid View control? I've got the datagridview working pretty well in the first draft of my program, and I'm not using Accept Changes at all. or should you update after closing the grid/form, etc.?Is this something that should be inserted into one of the grid's events? I just use the Update method of the data Adapter when I'm done. Also, can you tell me the best book to buy that fully explains the Data Grid View control? When Update is called, the Data Adapter will attempt to execute each query (UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE) on every row of the Data Set that has been updated, inserted, and deleted. For example, if you call Delete on a row on the Data Set, then when Update is called on the Data Adapter, the Delete Command of the Data Adapter will be called using the particular row in the Data Set. I have observed that the Cell End Edit event is the last event to fire when you leave a datagridview. If the row index is greater than the number of rows in the underlying datatable, I add a new datarow to the underlying datatable. Accept Changes() End If End Sub e is the datagridview cell event arg for the Cell End Edit event of the datagridview. Accept Changes() End If End Sub e is the datagridview cell event arg for the Cell End Edit event of the datagridview.
The dataset does not show immediately in the metadata library – just refresh it and you can see it.The trick is to add the row to the underlying data Table which is the datasource of the datagridview: Private Sub dgr Mod Sub Detail_Cell End Edit(By Val sender As Object, By Val e As System. When working in SAS Enterprise Guide, you can access data from the metadata libraries. So this dataset was changed up to create the dataset BI_DASH_SRCE.For this example, let’s just assume it’s the most AWESOME data every created for a dashboard and not just a renamed dataset I created for this example.
or should you update after closing the grid/form, etc.? I've got a lot to learn I know, but I have heard that Accept Changes should not be used with a Data Set because it actually may create a situation where the Data Set (in memory) is "updated", but not the disk database file, and later when you use "Update", vb thinks the changes have already been made.
